Aboudi is five years old. He lost both his parents and his sister at an air strike near Damascus. He arrived with his aunt to Shatila six months ago and lives with 11 other children and 4 adults in a small room in the Palestinian refugee camp. They came straight from Syria to the camp in Beirut. Aboudi still thinks his family is coming and when the other children yell the opposite at him, he smiles unappreciated. He doesn’t say a lot except that he looks forward to going home and that he really doesn’t like it where he’s living, because “there are big rats at night and I can hear them and then I can’t sleep”.
Aboudi’s story was aired on national Danish television in relation to a nationwide fundraising campaign to help the victims of the Syrian conflict.
