One Day in Tonle Bassac
One day I passed by and she smiled at me. Another day I passed by and she smiled at me. And this repeated itself for weeks and weeks on. Although I was working in Tonle Bassac, my interpreter Vitou would always meet me at the other side of the shanty town, so I never got a chance to talk to her. I asked her name once, as I was riding past on a bicycle. She just smiled again. Eventually I would walk past and finally one day Vitou was there so I could talk to her and her family. Her name was Tevy, as so many beautiful women in Cambodia. From that day I would hang out, have a drink with the family and move on. I took many pictures there, Tevy always smiled, her wings were just on her face and not her back.
