Robin Lundsgaard

Robin Lundsgaard

It’s 2.30 in the morning and that should really by the title of this image, but this is my life long friend, so I have chosen to dedicate it to his name.  We had just had our ‘lunch’ break. Robin’s well into the national enquirer of Denmark. Ekstra Bladet. I was sure he was thinking of something else, because he’s not the kind of guy to be interested in this kind of newspaper. Well a rag essentially. Maybe he was thinking about his guitar and playing music, something he was very good at, a talented musician in many ways, able to play all sorts of instruments, classical, electrical, even exotic. His musical talent and creative spirit has always fascinated and inspired me. Or maybe he was really thinking of the next move against me in chess? It’s interesting with photography you know, this is one of few pictures in which I am looking at whom I take a picture of. In a way, this picture has become an icon in my work as a photographer, because it emphasizes the most important aspect, the relationship between myself and the people I am looking at. Even when they in most cases are looking at me.
