When Mother Has Gone
It was just after mealtime, when I dropped in on Akra and his two daughters, Nary and Nuon. They didn’t see me, but Akra did and decided to crack a Khmer joke which he amused himself with. The girls didn’t get it. “If we could see our mother’s inside as grown men, we would surely paint the walls with a different colour”. I didn’t get the joke, but I got the gist of it.
